It has been five years since wrestling fans saw Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson wrestle an actual match in the WWE. Now it looks like the Hollywood actor has the itch to wrestle again in the near future.

As reported by NoDQ.com, Twitter user @TicketDrew (who has been reliable in the past) has possibly leaked some interesting news about The Rock's in-ring wrestling future.

It reports that The Rock wants to wrestle at WrestleMania next year and could be making more appearances in the WWE very soon.

To add more fuel to the fire, next week's Raw taping takes place in The Rock's hometown of Miami, Florida.

It's also being mentioned WWE Superstar Elias has been name dropping The Rock recently to compete in a future concert battle.

Dwayne Johnson appearing in WWE makes sense since he will have to promote "Fighting with my Family" later this year.

This is a biopic that centers around Paige and her real life family being in the wrestling industry. Aside from making a cameo, Dwayne Johnson is also a producer for the movie too.

It's also possible Dwayne Johnson wants to wrestle next year to get a mini break from Hollywood.

There has been talk in the movie industry that The Rock stars in too many movies every year so him taking a break to wrestle will not over-saturate his name.

Even if The Rock gets injured next year, it shouldn't be a big problem if he wants to take an extended break from his acting career.

Anyway, all of this news should be categorized as a rumor for now since neither WWE or Dwayne Johnson have spoken publicly about a potential return.
