WWE PPVs in 2018 have been hit and miss lately, but the Evolution show proved to be a huge success. The women really brought out the best out of each other as every match felt important and was entertaining.

The show started off with a nostalgia acts of Lita and Trish Stratus teaming up to face the team of Mickie James and Alicia Fox.

Despite being older, Lita and Trish Stratus still pulled off moonsaults and hurricanranas. The match was a decent opener with Lita and Trish getting the well deserved victory.

Even the 20 women Battle Royal was entertaining, although some people might not like the overall winner. The final four women were Ember Moon, Asuka, Tamina and Nia Jax.

Most of the older women got chucked out pretty quickly. Zelina Vega almost won the match, but Nia Jax threw her out.

The final two ended up being Nia Jax and Ember Moon. I really wanted Ember Moon to win, but they gave the victory to Nia Jax. Jax will be facing Ronda Rousey in the future for the Raw's Women's title.

Another decent match was the Mae Young Classic final between Toni Storm and Io Shirai. It may not have been the best match of the night, but the two women gave their best in the 10 minutes that they were given.

It was cool to see Toni Storm get the victory since she missed out being in the finals last time. She won using her Storm Breaker finisher.

Probably the least exciting match of the night was seeing Bayley, Sasha Banks and Natalya beating the Riot Squad.

There's not much else I can say about this match since it felt like an episode of Monday Night Raw. Sadly, no heel turns were present here and no women's tag team titles were announced either.

The NXT Women's title match ended with Kairi Sane being unable overcome Shayna Baszler's sleeper hold.

This match ended controversially since Shayna's friends interfered multiple times during the match. I'm pretty sure this storyline will continue in future episodes of NXT.

My favorite match of the night belonged to Charlotte vs Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Women's title. It was a 30 minute classic in a Last Woman Standing match that made the crowd gasp at their every move.

The two ladies brought the best out of each other using chairs, canes, tables and even ladders. It may have been one of the best female matches I have ever seen!

WWE did the right thing and allowed Becky Lynch to win fair and square. Sadly, the match wasn't the main event.

The main event of Ronda Rousey vs Nikki Bella couldn't upstage Becky Lynch vs Charlotte. While the last match was okay, Nikki Bella is not the best opponent for Ronda Rousey.

Predictably, Ronda Rousey won in the main event which was an average match by grabbing Nikki Bella with her armbar finisher. It wasn't a bad match, but it was weak compared to the match that was on prior.

Anyway, WWE Evolution was really entertaining and showed that the women can have great matches like the men. Hopefully WWE considers holding an event like this next year again as the females deserve the spotlight one more time.

Verdict: 8.5/10
