Prog genius Steven Wilson has uploaded a new YouTube video showing in-studio footage of the sessions to his upcoming solo album. Watch below.??

The video also contains an interview with Wilson, who claims the new album will be less expansive than his last solo outing, 2013's Alan Parsons-engineered The Raven That Refused to Sing, saying, "this album has probably got much less of the strong jazz element that the last record had."

??Wilson also claims that the new record will differ from the last because it has less of a specific aim.

"I was very much into the idea of making an album that sounded like it almost could have been made in 1972...but now, I'm looking again to maybe bring in some of the other elements...We got electronic music on the album, we got some really - for me anyway - really straightforward pop tunes."??

Note: we can all breathe a sign of relief now that it's officially confirmed that virtuoso guitarist Guthrie Govan will reprise his role in Wilson's band.

The video concludes with what seems to be album artwork, and promises a February 2015 release date.??

Wilson's latest album, The Raven That Refused to Sing was released February 2013 on Kscope Music records, the deluxe incarnation of which has four discs and 128-page hardcover book from illustrator, Hajo Mueller, and contains lyrics and "ghost stories." It won 'Album of the Year' at the 2013 installment of the Progressive Music Awards and garnered rave reviews from the likes of The Guardian and Allmusic.
