Opie and Anthony, along with co-host Jim Norton spent significant time Wednesday morning discussing a news story involving a transgender teen.

The teenager had been told by the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles to remove the makeup he was wearing for his license photo shoot because he did not "look like a boy." The three hosts debated the issue mostly agreeing that the teen could dress however he wanted as long as he wasn't doing it to goof on the DMV. It was pointed out that any woman wearing makeup could alter her appearance by removing it.

The same would be true of a man with a bear in his licence picture who later shaves. Where the discussion got interesting was when the hosts attempted to make sense of all the terminology involved.

The teenager in question was described in news stories as being gender non-conforming.

He dresses in in fashion typically associated with females but he still identifies himself using male pronouns. He's a boy who wants to dress like a girl but does not necessarily want to be one.

Opie, Anthony and Norton talked about how the challenge is that the terminology is is so specific and changes so often that it's next-to-impossible to stay on top of it.

That, they said, is where it gets silly -- when every group needs its own specific names and everyone else is supposed to know what they are.
