Magisto World Cup Fans Make Five Movies Every 60 Seconds

Users in 85 countries are creating an average of five movies every 60 seconds with top countries making Magisto videos being the U.S., Brazil, Russia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, United Kingdom, France, Spain and Germany.

Magisto, the cloud-based mobile video platform, has seen over 100,000 personal movies created with the new World Cup editing theme in only two weeks.

The 2014 World Cup has become, as CNN reported, "the biggest social media event ever." For example, the story reports that Facebook had 10 million people and 20 million interactions during the U.S.-Portugal match.

According to Twitter Data, there were eight million tweets about the match while it was happening.

While not as big as the Super Bowl in total numbers at one match, "Taken as a whole, the World Cup, bolstered by its massive international appeal and growing popularity in the U.S., is becoming the biggest social media event in the medium's short history."

Magisto soccer fans are sharing their World Cup movies on their favorite social networks; with 25% of movies being viewed more than three times, a strong indicator that the video was shared.
