It is now official after months of speculation as Patty Jenkins will be directing Wonder Woman 2. In the process, she is also going to become the highest paid female director of all time thanks to her involvement in the sequel.

As reported by Variety, Patty Jenkins will both direct and write Wonder Woman 2.

DC's Geoff Johns is also helping to write the movie. Their goal is to make sure that the sequel is just as successful and fun as the first movie which came out earlier this year.

Aside from directing the film, Jenkins is getting a nice pay rise.

She only earned around $1 million for the first movie, but is said to be getting $8 million for her involvement in the sequel.

Also included in the contract is Box Office receipts so she will get a bit more money depending on how well the movie earns worldwide.

Her salary for the sequel is on par with the amount of money Zack Snyder received for directing Man of Steel. It's great to see that she is getting a pay rise since she managed to save the DCEU. The first Wonder Woman movie earned $813 million worldwide and is the highest earner of Summer 2017 in North America. Not to mention the first film has a healthy 92% rating over on Rotten Tomatoes.

There's no official word on what Wonder Woman 2 will be about, but it's speculated that it will be set in the '80s.

Wonder Woman will have to fight the Soviet Union if this rumor ends up being true. The sequel is out on December 13th, 2019.
