Opinion: Is Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 34 A Bad Idea?

With No Mercy officially in the books, it's clear that Vince McMahon knows what the main event for WrestleMania 34 will be. It's a match that he wants, but a lot of the fans won't like.

Is it a good idea for WWE to stick with Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34?

No Mercy may have been a Raw only PPV, but it arguably had two matches that were WrestleMania worthy in itself. Roman Reigns vs. John Cena could have easily been saved for WrestleMania 34, yet WWE decided to hastily book it quickly.

The same could be said for Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar. Strowman was booked to be an unstoppable monster, but sadly didnt come out on top at No Mercy.

With John Cena constantly leaving WWE to make more Hollywood movies, Vince McMahon has been desparate to push Roman Reigns as the top babyface of the company.

He's been trying to do this for the past three years now, but the fans still don't like Reigns.

I'm actually a fan of Reigns, but him facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 is predictable and boring. We all know that Reigns will win the match and it's a contest we have seen before too.

Reigns vs. Lesnar already occurred back in 2015 at WrestleMania 31. It was an okay match, but nobody really wants to see these two face each other again.

The problem with WWE booking Reigns vs. Lesnar is the fact that the other guys on the Raw roster look weak now.

Lesnar has already easily defeated Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman. It's rumored Lesnar's next opponent will be Finn Balor. All these guys are just stepping stones so Reigns can be the final conqueror of Lesnar.

The main thing that annoys me is that WWE books better and arguably bigger matches outside of WrestleMania now. We've seen dream matches such as AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton, John Cena vs.

Shinsuke Nakamura, and now Roman Reigns vs. John Cena already. You're telling me that Reigns vs. Lesnar is going to excite the fans?

The only way WWE can save this match is to turn Roman Reigns into a heel either before or after the WrestleMania 34 main event. If Reigns wins the Universal Title as a babyface, the fans are just going to boo him even more.

Reigns' character has not changed and it's getting boring. I admire Reigns, but he needs to turn heel to make things fresh.

As for Lesnar, his aura has started to fade away in my opinion.

When he returned to WWE back in 2012, he had great matches with the likes of John Cena, Triple H and CM Punk just to name a few.

However, once he adopted the "suplex city" style of match in 2014, his matches have started to become boring and repetitive.

Now his matches even don't last longer than 10 minutes long! His matches with Goldberg lasted 5 minutes or less while he defeated Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman in 6 minutes and 9 minutes respectively.

It's highly possible Lesnar vs. Reigns II will also be short and repetitive encounter.

I'm hoping (like most other fans) WWE changes its plans for WrestleMania 34. Things need to change since there's clear evidence that fans don't like the product anymore. If you have seen the photos, you'll know that the crowd attendance for Raw and Smackdown shows have been poor lately.

WWE cannot even sell out arenas week in and week out like they used to. If WWE sticks with a babyface Reigns vs. Lesnar, we might see empty seats at WrestleMania 34!
