One Piece Season Six, Voyage One launches today. Funimation announced the news in a press release.

The release has a ghostly feel to it, as Luffy and crew must combat an evil ghoul pirate in order to survive.

"While drifting through haunted waters," Funimation stated in a press release, "the Straw Hats encounter a ghost ship inhabited by a walking, talking skeleton.

Luffy quickly befriends the ghastly newcomer, but the rest of his mates want nothing to do with this panty-obsessed bag of bones.

Before the mystery of the seagoing skeleton can be deciphered, the Straw Hats find themselves trapped within the terrifying walls of Thriller Bark!"

One Piece is the tale of Luffy as he tries to become King of the Pirates. The series is known as one of the longest running anime franchises; the series started in 1998 and is still running.

Other popular series, including Naruto and Dragonball Z, ended their runs sooner than One Piece.

As such, One Piece is regarded as one of the iconic anime franchises.

"I really mean it when I say One Piece has the elusive 'spirit of anime,'" Them Anime states. "As a series, the serialized storytelling has a lot of impact that builds from episode to episode, and shows extensive planning for arcs a couple hundred episodes in advance.

It's one of the few series that can only be realized in animated form, and it has so much impact because of its extreme length. And it may be nowhere near finished."
