Nintendo is gearing up for the release of Super Smash Bros for 3DS.

Posting on Twitter that fans can "save up to 39% on select games in week 3 of (their) Super Smashing Sale," the company is offering discounts on games featuring select characters from their upcoming brawler.

The sale is happening on the Nintendo eShop.

"The new Super Smash Bros game is almost here," Nintendo states on their eShop site," so we're celebrating with a sale... now through Oct. 2."

This week, fans can save money on games featuring: Lucario, Pikachu, Charizard, Greninja, Samus, Zero Suit Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, and the Mii Fighters.

The discounted games are: Pokemon Rumble U, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, Pokemon Battle Trozei, Metroid, and Wii Fit U.

Nintendo has marketed their upcoming brawler aggressively. And, when it launched in Japan, the title outsold Destiny, which grossed $500 Million worldwide on its debut night.

"Super Smash Bros.

outsold Destiny and all others by a multiple of 10 in only a few days in Japan," Liberty Voice reports, " The newest fighter from Nintendo flew to and off shelves on September 13, two days after Destiny released in the territory, and effortlessly lew past 1 million sales over the weekend."

Super Smash Bros for 3DS hits American shelves on October 3--the day after the sale ends. If the game sells as well as it did in Japan, then Nintendo will collect another considerable sum of money.
