New Poll Finally Shows Donald Trump Voters Wishing Clinton Was President

Donald Trump has not been having a good week. First it was the White House recording scandal.

Then it was the Russia leak scandal. And now it's this: according to Public Policy Polling, more people wish Hillary Clinton was president than Trump -- by 8 points. And that includes 10% of Trump voters.

Some of the most shocking findings of the poll are that Democrats lead in a generic congressional race 49%-38%, Trump's disapproval rate remains flat, however at 54%. And only 38% of voters think Trump is honest (what news are they listening to??).

But there's one number that will bother Trump more than any other: by 16 points, voters wish President Obama was back in office.

55% of voters wish Obama was in office instead of Trump -- only 39% prefer having Trump in office over Obama.

Here's what PPP has to say about the implications of this poll in 2020:

t's very early, but Trump trails by wide margins in hypothetical match ups for reelection. He does particularly poorly against Joe Biden (54/40 deficit) and Bernie Sanders (52/39 deficit.) There's significant defection from people who voted for Trump in November in each of those match ups- 15% of Trump voters say they'd choose Sanders over him and 14% say they'd choose Biden over him.

Trump also trails Elizabeth Warren (49/39), Al Franken (46/38), and Cory Booker (46/39).

PPP also looked at the potential for The Rock to run for president. Although most people have no opinion of him, he would still win against Trump in a hypothetical contest.
