'Naked and Afraid XL' Recap: 'Man of Fire' Season 2 Episode 2

Moving into episode two of Discovery's Naked and Afraid XL, one contestant, Carrie tapped out after four days.

Now, in "Man on Fire" the rest of the teams and one lonely Clarence try to figure out how they can best reach the resources they need to survive in season two.

Now Carrie is gone, Kim and Darrin have to find a way to move on without their partner.

Clarence and his team did not get off on the right foot and it caused some serious issues within the team of Stacey and Jake.

The all male team of Steven, Ryan and Angel seem ready to work together and find a way to conquer the Pondo Ravine.

Meanwhile, the all female group suffered an injury to one of their members but Tawny, Phaedra and Alyssa seem ready to take on the challenge despite the mishap.

It's day 5 and Clarence has finally talked the rest of his group into moving towards a fresh water source. The all female group still hasn't had a full nights sleep or anything to eat yet.

At least they've got water. Darrin and Kim are having a hard time which is made worse by being down a person. However, the remaining two are hitting it off.

Steven, Angel, and Ryan are still unsuccessful at catching a big game animal. Angel has decided to cover himself in mud and wait by the water in order to catch an animal by surprise.

It's been five hours and the group looking for water still hasn't found any. Stacey and Clarence take a break while Jake scouts on ahead in heavy snake territory.

When he's gone too long, Clarence and Stacey decide to go after him, just as Jake finally stumbles on a water source.

The same water source that the all female group has been camped out at. Darrin goes out hunting and stumbles across a reptile and they become the first group to get food.

Night time at the boys camp brings a lot of strange noises that they can't identify. The six man group didn't get a good night's sleep either.

They don't waste much time crying over the loss and go in search of food and firewood. Clarence decides to take a midday nap in the lake. Jake and Phaedra find an active den and decide to come back later.

Ryan and Steven have opposing views on how they should be hunting as another animal gets away from them. Steven's about ready to try hunting away from the other two.

Everyone's starting to get upset by Clarence's way of survival.

Clarence on the other hand decides to go catch fish for the group. It seems he's found his job in the group and the everyone else feels guilty about bad mouthing him.

Just as they are finishing their meal, they hear the trumpet of an elephant. They all enjoy front row seats to an elephant herd coming to drink.

A storm rolls in and each team is effected. Kim is starting to feel ill and she finds a real bad tick bite behind her ear. She starts to think she's going to be sent home with tick fever.

The group of six go to try and smoke out the porcupine. Clarence wants to be helpful to the group but it's getting a little too hot from him. It starts to get hard for him to breath and he asks for a medic.

They come and diagnose him with a combination of dehydration and heat stroke. They load him into a truck in order to get him into an ambulance in order to go to the hospital. He's pulled from the challenge.

"Man on Fire" was another crazy installment in season two of Naked and Afraid XL.

The challenge grows harder and with that comes more tension. Who will make it to the end of the 40 Days and 40 Night challenge? Fans can continue to follow the Naked and Afraid XL challenge on Sundays at 10 PM on Discovery.
