Last month Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was at WWE Raw filming scenes for his movie called "Fighting With My Family".

Since the crowd in Los Angeles kept chanting CM Punk to him, The Rock thought it would be nice for the fans to hear from CM Punk himself so he called him on his cellphone.

Unfortunately, CM Punk only came through via a voicemail and that pretty much ended the segment.

The Rock sadly didn't respond when CM Punk tried to call him back as he was in the middle of orchestrating the crowd to cheer and boo.

The crowd was so loud he wasn't able to hear his phone go off.

Even though this segment happened off-air, people backstage at WWE were not happy about it.

A former wrestler by the name of Sean "X-Pac" Waltman has now spoken about more details of the incident on his own podcast called X-Pac 12360. Waltman was backstage that night and gave us some interesting new details.

Waltman didn't want to say too much, but he said that a WWE employee wanted to cut The Rock's microphone off. This person even said that WWE is in the middle of a lawsuit with CM Punk and felt disappointed that The Rock wanted to call him.

Surprisingly though, Waltman said that nobody got truly mad about The Rock calling CM Punk. He just said they were there backstage kind of disappointed The Rock would do such a thing, but they weren't super angry over it.

It's possible the person that wanted to cut The Rock's microphone was Vince McMahon. McMahon is usually the director of the shows and calls all of the shots. Waltman further said that The Rock knows he has a lot of freedom and didn't really care if he rustled a few feathers backstage.

After all, The Rock is the highest paid actor in Hollywood right now and WWE cannot really "fire" him.

At this point, The Rock is more famous than the WWE itself. Anyway, you can check out Waltman's comments on the incident at the 4:30 mark in the video below.
