Norwegian artist and animator, Kristian Hammerstad, has a flair for the grotesque.

Hammerstad's vibrant, pop-gore illustrations read like the pages of an old comic book, with their thick lines and bold colors. His subjects frequently include werewolves, skeletons, cyborgs, zombies, and beautiful but menacing women, conjuring up clips of dated horror, science fiction and noir films.

He cites artists Charles Burns, Daniel Clowes, and Chris Ware as some of his major influences, along with comic book artists like Katsuhiro Otomo, Hal Foster, and Will Eisner.

His work has graced the pages of the New Yorker, Wired Magazine, and the New York Times, among other notable publications.
