As The Boss cast continues their press tour, the films major star Melissa McCarthy visits the Howard Stern SiriusXM radio show to talk Mike and Molly, The Boss and much more.

"Melissa said the TV show is done. She said they did it 6 years.

She said it was a nice group. Howard asked if she ever says to herself that she had a huge movie hit and she had to get off TV," according to MarksFriggin's rundown.

"Melissa said no. She said it's fun to do a character for a long stretch. She sad that's hard to do in an hour and a half movie."

McCarthy's show Mike and Molly was cut in the middle of their season and she was alerted about it by her manager. She told the Stern Show crew that she has no idea what happened but she doesn't really question it anymore. McCarthy revealed that Kathy Bates was a hero to her since she was 20-years-old.

Stern pointed out that McCarthy grew up on a farm and that her transition to fame must have been a big surprise to her.

Both McCarthy and Stern had something major in common. Like Stern's wife Beth, McCarthy's mom loved to rescue cats.

"Melissa said when people came over to their house about 25 cats would run at the car. She said her mom would save any cat she could," according to MF.

"She said her first time on a date it would freak people out. Howard said he thinks it's amazing that she has success as an actress.

Howard asked if her parents were shocked too. Melissa said she started out in Fashion and she still does that."

McCarthy went to a Catholic School when she was younger and claimed that she was thrown across the room by a teacher. The discussion broke into The Boss and McCarthy's co-star Kristen Bell.

"Howard asked how Kristen Bell knows when to come in. Melissa said she's the best. Howard asked how he'd know when to come in. Melissa said you just feel it," according to MF.

Stern began asking about Paul Feig's involvement in her films which sent the topic directly into the upcoming Ghostbusters film.

"She said he's the director of Ghostbusters too. She said that's coming out this summer. Howard said that making a remake like that must make her nervous," according to MF.

"Melissa said that it is but Paul Feig is doing it and they have a great cast. She said they're 98 percent there."

The extensive interview found McCarthy being extremely candid about her experiences in the film business and brought some pretty interesting information about her early life and film together. You can check out the full transcript of the chat here.
