Mattel Is Doing A Great Job With The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Toy License

Back in 2015, Hasbro got a hold of the Jurassic World toy license, but many collectors were disappointed by their efforts. The toys had ugly poses, faulty builds and colors that looked out of place just to name a few.

Many collectors like myself decided not to buy any Jurassic World toys made from Hasbro as the quality was worse than the old toys that were made by Kenner back in the '90s! Due to the poor reception, Hasbro lost the Jurassic World toy license which is now owned by their rival Mattel.

When I heard Mattel was going to make toys based on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, I was skeptical at first.

I wasn't too sure if Mattel was the right company to give us quality toys at a cheap price because some of their DC toys haven't looked the best.

Thankfully my skepticism turned out to be wrong because the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom toy line is excellent as evident by the figures that came out this week.

Not only do the toys look great and are of high quality, but they are also affordable too.

I live in New Zealand and sometimes toy prices are more expensive here than in the United States because it takes longer to ship toys from the other side of the world.

However, for some reason many of the toys from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom are cheaper than the Star Wars figures offered by Hasbro.

For example I saw the huge Colossal T-Rex figure being sold for $85 NZD and this is the biggest dinosaur toy I have ever seen.

On the flip side of that, you have Hasbro offering the much smaller TIE Silencer Star Wars toy and they're trying to sell that thing for $110 NZD!

The same goes for tinier figurines as well as the decent looking Velociraptor only cost me $10 NZD to buy. Again with a 3.75 inch Star Wars toy, they usually sell for $20 NZD and they are much smaller.

Mattel is now offering human characters, vehicles and a legacy line from the older films as well. This is cool because the Hasbro Jurassic World toy line offered nothing but only crappy looking dinosaurs and even unwanted hand puppets!

I'm not sure how Mattel is making a profit from the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom toy line, but I'm happy by the price and quality of the action figures.

Let's hope Hasbro step up their game because the most recent Star Wars toys have been disappointing lately outside of the Black Series line.
