Main Cast Has Wrapped Filming For Avatar Sequels

It may have been a long time since the release of the first Avatar film in 2009, but progress on the sequels have reached a milestone. This is because the main cast has finished their parts in the movie.

Director, James Cameron, gave an update on the Avatar sequels via the official Avatar Twitter page earlier this week. You can read his comments about the films down below.

“Today we’re capturing some stunt scenes, but our principle cast are all wrapped – Sam, Zoe, Sigourney, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet – they’re done now but they gave us incredible performances, and I can’t tell you how proud I am of the work they did on these films.”

Presumably, work must have been finished on Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 since the fourth and fifth films will not be out until 2024 and 2025 respectively. Avatar 2 will be out on December 18th, 2020 with Avatar 3 releasing one year later on December 17th, 2021.

Hype for the films remain high since the first Avatar movie is still the top highest grossing movie of all time.

The movie made well over $2.7 billion worldwide back in 2009. Not even Star Wars: The Force Awakens or Avengers: Infinity War were able to gross more money.

Before the Avatar films come out, you can check out two other movies James Cameron is producing next year. Releasing first is Alita: Battle Angel and then a few months later you can catch Terminator 6 coming out in late 2019.
