Disney and Lucasfilm have set some new release dates for the upcoming releases of Star Wars: Episode IX and Indiana Jones 5. Both of them will be released in the next few years or so.

As announced on Star Wars.com, Star Wars: Episode IX will be out on May 24th, 2019. This is a change from the December release dates of The Force Awakens, Rogue One and The Last Jedi.

It will be interesting to see if this movie can make as much money in the Summer blockbuster period. It will have more competition during that season.

Episode IX will conclude the new era trilogy. It might be the last film to star the likes of Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn and more.

It might also be the film that will reveal all of the secrets that were hidden from us in The Force Awakens. Everyone wants to know the parents of Rey and how/why Snoke has became so powerful.

Disney and Lucasfilm also announced a new release date for Indiana Jones 5. The fifth film in the popular franchise will be out on July 10th, 2020.

Steven Spielberg returns as the director and Harrison Ford will also return to play Indiana Jones himself.

Ford will be around 77 years old when that movie comes out.

It's possible the film could focus on Indiana Jones' son who we last saw in The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. His son was played by Shia Labeouf back in the 2008 movie.

Anyway, both Star Wars and the Indiana Jones franchises are iconic and have spanned generations.

Both Disney and Lucasfilm are planning many other Star Wars films in the foreseeable future. Rumors have been floating around that there will be standalone films based on Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi and more.
