Kevin Feige Confirms Doctor Strange Will Get A Sequel Eventually

The world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was completely shaken up back in May with the release of Avengers: Infinity War, where everything changed.

Even with the seeming death of characters that we know will definitely be back, Marvel's Kevin Feige has has to be careful about what he says to not spoil everything.

One of those characters left in limbo has been Doctor Strange, who first debuted in the MCU back in 2016 in the titular Doctor Strange.

Cinemablend was able to sit down with Feige during the recent Ant-Man and the Wasp press tour, where they discussed future sequels in phase four and beyond, including specifically a sequel for Doctor Strange.

"Sometimes it's where do those characters pop up? [Doctor] Strange, you know, whenever we do another Strange one, which we will do, it will be a number of years from the first Strange, and yet he's a very big part of [Avengers:] Infinity War. So it is just a good problem to have when you have too many beloved characters that people want to see more of, whilst keeping to our core belief that we need to keep exploring nuance and keep doing different types of things."

While the old guard of actors like Robert Downey Jr.

and Chris Evans may be starting to wind down as early as next year's Avengers 4, others like Benedict Cumberbatch are just getting started and will likely be playing a large role in the future of the MCU.

With the recent acquisition of Fox's properties as well that will go through eventually, the world of the MCU is only going to be getting bigger, so it's good to hear that those like Doctor Strange won't be forgotten about with solo films.

Considering the first movie had a tease of Baron Mordo going evil as in the comics, that's definitely something we need to see realized on screen eventually.
