James Blake is an English singer-songwriter/producer who also remixes under the moniker Harmonimix. As someone who holds a degree in Popular Music from the University of London, Blake is known for his almost academic approach to electronic music - having been classically trained since in an early age.
His first album, simply titled James Blake, was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2011 and his sophomore album, Overgrown, won the prize in 2013. He was nominated for "Best New Artist" at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.??
Overgrown was released April 8 2013 and peaked at #8 on the UK Billboard charts and #32 in the US. The album features appearances from Brian Eno and RZA.
