Hasbro announced a few weeks ago that it was going to release Jabba the Hutt's sail barge if it could get 5000 backers.

Well that target was reached earlier today which means the toy will officially ship out to users that want a unit.

As you can see from the Haslab official website, Jabba the Hutt's sail barge has now exceeded over 5000 backers. 5515 backers have been counted so far with only 4 days left to go until the campaign ends.

Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna) costs backers $499.99 plus tax and will be shipped out to them by February 2019 if all things go according to plan.

April 3rd, 2018 is when the campaign will stop so if you want the toy, try considering backing the project as soon as possible.

If you are rich enough, you can order more than one unit although this is only advisable if you have more than $1000 to spend.

In either case, the goal has been reached meaning backers should get the toy early next year once Hasbro ships them out.

This barge is the biggest toy that Hasbro has ever made and it also includes a 3.75 inch figure of Jabba the Hutt himself and Yakface.

Other figures are sold separately if you want to populate the barge with the rest of the characters that appeared in Return of the Jedi.

It's great to see a toy of this size officially getting backed by hardcore Star Wars fans. There were initial fears the project wouldn't have been successful but now the toy will become a reality.

The reason the project had to be crowdfunded is due to the big size and costs of making a toy this large.

Not many toy retailers would want to stock this which is why Hasbro chose not to distribute it the normal way.
