It Doesn't Sound Like Natalie Portman Will Be In Star Wars: Episode IX

Star Wars: Episode IX will be the last Star Wars movie concentrating on the Skywalker family and it's supposed to end the series on a high note.

One of the rumors floating around these days is that Natalie Portman is coming back to reprise her role as Padme Amidala.

Since Padme Amidala lost to will to live in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the rumor suggested she would have been in a dream sequence or flashback scene.

She's not Force sensitive so it's unlikely she can return to appear as a Force Ghost like her husband Anakin Skywalker.

Now we have some answers to whether or not Padme Amidala will be appearing in Star Wars: Episode IX. BuzzFeed News interviewed Natalie Portman if she knows about the rumors of her character's return. You can see what she has to say posted below.

"Really? I don't know anything about that. I'm guessing that's not true because I don't know about it yet."

Her answer pretty much sounds like she won't be returning to play Padme Amidala. That said, it's hard to tell if she's telling the truth or not so we'll have to wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX is filming right now to be released on December 20th, 2019.

The plot for the movie is being kept under wraps so we won't know what the movie is about until the first trailer is released very soon.

A more likely cameo would be Ewan McGregor to come back and play as Obi-Wan Kenobi. He already made a very short cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
