Though Joey Bada$$ is one of the most critically acclaimed young rappers in hip-hop, he hasn't broken into the mainstream world. However, Bada$$ is still hungry and it shows throughout his brand new track "Ready."

The last time we heard about Bada$$, he was fighting back against a paparazzi who repeatedly called him A$AP Rocky outside of Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 extravaganza at Madison Square Garden. It's an incident he addresses in "Ready" where he raps, "I feel like Rocky when it comes to paparazzi." Bada$$ rightfully went off as it's pretty disrespectful to be called a name you simply aren't.

The truth is, Bada$$ one of the most overlooked artists in hip-hop which makes "Ready" such a necessary track.

On "Ready" Bada$$ declares that he is going to be around for a long time and makes his bid for the hip-hop crown. It seems like the run-in with the paparazzi was sort of a last straw for Bada$$ and now he is going to fight so that critics and hip-hop fans know his name. It's a major statement from an extremely talented artists who isn't taking any crap from anyone.

The production from Statik Selektah is absolutely killer and even elevates the whole message.

With "Ready," Bada$$ is definitely making waves again and fans can only hope that it means there is much more where this came from in the near future.
