On the winter finale of "How To Get Away With Murder," the plot has narrowed down to the night of the bonfire--and we finally find out who murdered Sam Keating.

Last episode, Bonnie told Annalise everything she knew about how Sam was linked to Lila: (1) Lila was at their home the night she died, and (2) he knew Lila was pregnant. Bonnie was promptly fired, and Annalise was promptly pissed.

Fed up with her husband's behavior and lies, she makes moves to get him out of the house and away from her.

"You knew she was pregnant," Annalise says to Sam, while she packed his things. "How stupid could you be? Bonnie? Of course she'd tell me."
"I lied, yes," Sam says in a paltry attempt to defend himself.

"But only because I was afraid you'd think I killed her."
"Didn't you?" Annalise says, and throws Sam's things out the front door. "You've lied so much, your words mean nothing to me. You mean nothing to me."

Sam attempts to talk to her, calm her down, but Annalise hears nothing of it. "I'm done saving your ass. I'm done believing in you.

I'm done loving you.

Get out of this house!" she says.
"I'm begging you, do not give up on me," Sam pleaded
"Get out of this house, or I'm going to call 911," she says, and picks up the phone.

But Sam rips the phone from her grasp, and yells, "I'm not leaving until you talk to me!"

Annalise admits that she was having an affair with Nate, and Sam reacts with anger. He grabs her by the throat, and they yell at each other about Lila.

"Go ahead, kill me, kill me... kill me!" Annalise shouts, but Sam lets her go.

"You're a monster," he says to her.

"You want the truth? You're nothing but a piece of ass." He tells her that all she was was an easy lay for him.
"Well, at least you were able to tell the truth,"Annalise says, and storms out of the house.

Meanwhile, Rebecca is across the street, watching Annalise leave... and watching the house.

Michaela shows up at Annalise Keating's house with the trophy, but obviously, Annalise isn't there. Only Sam is present, trying to tell Michaela to leave, when Rebecca walks in, trying to sneak by.

"I'm just here to return the trophy, Micheala says. "Is something wrong?"

"Call Wes," Rebecca says, and Sam chases her up the stairs. Michaela calls Wes, and says Rebecca has locked herself in Sam and Annalise's bedroom. She doesn't know what's going on.

Wes, Laurel and Connor are in a car, driving together, when Wes gets Michaela's frantic call. "Sam killed Lila and Rebecca is trying to prove it," Wes tells Michaela.

Sam suddenly breaks through the bedroom door, and Michaela freaks out. "You have to get here right now!"

Wes and the rest of the Keating 5 show up, and Wes gets Sam to calm down. Rebecca downloads files on Sam's computer.

"What did you do?" he asks her.
"Nothing. I didn't find anything," Rebecca says.

Sam says he's not going to do anything--but then tackles Rebecca, and tries to steal the jump drive from her hand.

The group tussles, and Laurel grabs the drive and runs. As Sam runs after her, Michaela pushes him away from her, and Sam trips, falls over the railing of the staircase, and fell to his death.

Connor, Laurel, Michaela, and Wes gather in a panic and discuss what just happened, clarifying that they are all equally f***ed for Sam's death--when suddenly, Sam is alive! Sam is alive, and strangling Rebecca, choking her to death.

But then Sam is hit from behind with a blunt object, blood splatters over Rebecca's face, and the camera pulls back to reveal Wes, holding the trophy he used to killed Sam Keating.

Everyone is in complete shock. Michaela is mumbling "he's dead" to herself on repeat, and Connor vomits. And well..

not everyone was in shock. Wes cleaned Rebecca up, and they made out like no big deal.

As the group recuperate, Asher shows up at the door for a brief moment, yelling, knowing the Keating 5 were in there. The little murderers hide, but eventually Asher abandons his mission, and went to the bonfire.

Rebecca is willing to take the fall for Wes, saying she's probably going to jail anyways, but Wes won't allow it. He tells her to stay put while he returns to the Keating's house to retrieve the trophy/murder weapon.

"I'm so sorry," he whispers to Sam's dead corpse, but Sam doesn't him...

Wes brings the bloodied trophy to Michaela, Laurel and Connor, and Laurel suggests we clean the trophy, put it back, and bury the body.

Connor and Michaela think that's insane. How are they going to pull that off on the busiest night in town?

The flip a coin. Heads: they bury the body. Tails: they leave it where it is. And it landed on heads. "We go back for the body," Wes says.

They think to burn the body, and use the bonfire as they're alibi, attending and taking photos of themselves before retrieving Sam's body.

Michaela cleans the trophy in the kitchen sink, and all four of them wrap up Sam's body in the floor rug.

Meanwhile, Annalise goes to visit Nate, and since his wife is in the hospital, Nate invites her in. "I think Sam killed Lila," Annalise tells Nate. "He lied. About everything. Lila was pregnant and he knew."

Annalise thinks to leave, spend the night at a hotel, but Nate convinces her otherwise. He at least asks her to call him.

She does, and there's no answer. "It's probably better that way," she says. "Are we terrible people?"
"It depends on who you ask," Nate says.

Later in the night, Annalise leaves Nate's side, and calls Sam. She leaves him a heartwarming, emotionally driven voicemail, and it's all very depressing.

"Whatever we've said to each other, all of the horrible things, we've seen each other through so much," Annalise says. "It's a rare thing to know someone that well, and bear witness to so much in someone's life. So I'm asking you right now, I'm not begging, please forgive me for what I said. I didn't mean any of it, I know you didn't either. I don't want things to end this way.

I want us to work through, I want us to be together. Because whatever you did, whatever the truth is, I'll stay by your side through all of it, no matter what. Because I'm your wife.

And I love you and I need you. So please come home safe. Come home, so we can be together."

But as it goes, Connor, Wes, Laurel and Michaela dispose of the body and evidence, and Laurel makes plans with Charlie to return the trophy.

As we known from flashback's past, Annalise calls Bonnie distressed about Sam being M.I.A., and Bonnie is at Asher's house. She darts out to go to Annalise's side, when Annalise says something terrible has happened.

Annalise calls The Keating 5 in to work, and they all think that she knows what happened. Wes encourages everyone to keep their cool as the police shows up.
"The police are going to ask a lot of questions about my husband," Annalise said.

She tells the Keating 5 that Sam was having an affair with Lila Stangard, and they had a terrible fight about it.

"Now he's not answering his phone, and I think he might have fled." She needs them all to be as honest with the police as possible.

"Can you promise that you'll do that for me?" Annalise asks, looking at Wes.
"Of course," Wes says. "Whatever you need."

Then, in a shocking and surprising flashback, we see Wes standing over Sam's body as Wes receives the trophy.
"I'm so sorry," Wes says to Sam's body, and this time, somebody hears him.

"Don't be." It's Annalise.
