Gearbox Software is set for a big announcement at PAX South this weekend, company president Randy Pitchford stated on Twitter.

The announcement will unlikely pertain to Borderlands III. Pitchford spent a good portion of 2014 denying its development.

In February of 2014, Polygon reported that Gearbox wasn't developing a sequel to its popular shooter franchise. In July, Gamespot reported that Pitchford stated he was "scared" by the idea of Borderlands III.

Whatever the announcement is, it will cap an eventful week for the studio: Gearbox announced the release of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection yesterday. It includes Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands II.

It will also come with all the DLC for both games.

There will also be a limited edition of The Handsome Collection that will come with a remote controlled Claptrap.

"Limited to only 5,000 units worldwide," Gearbox stated on the PlayStation Blog, "the Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition includes a remote controlled Claptrap steward bot that you'll control with a companion app from your iOS or Android device.

You'll be able to play voice samples of some of Claptrap's most iconic lines and look through a camera to see where Claptrap is headed, all while you control his every move (while balancing on one wheel)! The Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition also includes 12 really cool exclusive Vault Hunter lithographs, and a collectible steel case.

It'll be available for $399 at participating retailers, and we recommend getting a move on it if you're interested -- we don't expect these to last long."
