Wonder Woman is out now and is already wowing critics and fans alike. Due to the overwhelming positive reception, a sequel for the movie is already planned and the two main players for the first film are set to return.

As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, star Gal Gadot is contractually obligated to return for Wonder Woman 2. Not to mention Patty Jenkins might be coming back to direct the sequel as well.

The two are a winning duo so it makes sense for Warner Bros. to commission a sequel as soon as possible.

The only question mark is when the movie might come out. After all, Warner Bros.

has a lot of other DC movies in the pipeline.

Justice League is out later this year while Aquaman is releasing next year. Other movies coming out in the future are The Flash, Man of Steel 2, The Batman, Shazam and many others.

The interesting part about Wonder Woman 2 is that the film will have a modern day setting. This is similar to how Marvel treated its Captain America franchise.

The first film was set in World War II while The Winter Soldier Sequel was set in the present day.

Since Wonder Woman is a part of the Justice League, it's possible the sequel could take place around the same time period.

Hopefully the DCEU is able to be as successful as Marvel in the near future. The first few movies had a rough start thanks to negative reviews given out by both critics and moviegoers alike.

Wonder Woman is doing the opposite as the reception has been great on both fronts. It could be the start of a great new unified universe.
