First Trailer For Star Wars Resistance Cartoon Shoots Out Of The Galaxy

Disney has now revealed the first full trailer for its upcoming anime inspired cartoon called Star Wars Resistance. The cartoon promises to feature action and comedy that fans of the Star Wars brand come to expect.

Star Wars Resistance has a unique style of animation as it's a mix of 2D and 3D animation.

It's different to the full 3D rendered look of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. In my opinion, I like the animation style of Resistance out of all of them.

The cartoon is set years after Return of the Jedi, but only a few years before the events of The Force Awakens.

Some guest characters on the show will include Poe Dameron (Oscar Issac), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), General Leia and BB-8. The voice of General Leia has now been revealed yet since the late Carrie Fishter sadly cannot reprise the role.

Disney has only released a very short synopsis for the cartoon so far.

The synopsis says: "The series, starting out a few years before the events of The Force Awakens, follows Kazuda Xiono, a pilot who is recruited into the Resistance to spy on the growing threat of the First Order".

Star Wars Resistance will be airing on October 7 at 10pm ET/PT on the Disney Channel. We're not sure how long the series is, but hopefully it's popular enough to have more than one season.

It's an exciting time to be a fan of Star Wars right now as two other TV shows are also in production.

One is a live action TV series being written by John Favreau while Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming back for one last final season!
