The first footage for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been shown, although it wasn't for the public.

The first footage screened for select members of the media and Disney shareholders. Judging by the descriptions, the movie will be as epic as any other Star Wars movie.

The brief footage for Star Wars: The Last Jedi were described by Daniel Miller of the LA Times via Twitter.

As expected, the footage shows us the beginning of the film which is where The Force Awakens concluded. Rey asks Luke "who are you?" until she hands his lightsaber back to him.

He also saw footage of General Leia, Finn, and Chewbacca. General Leia didn't speak in the trailer that was shown to him, but she was wearing a military garb.

The footage wasn't all about the characters as some action was shown too. He saw an X-Wing wobbling in mid-air flying inside of a huge ship. It could be one of the First Order's huge ships.

Much like The Force Awakens, it sounds like Star Wars: The Last Jedi will also take us to lots of great looking planets. Miller saw footage of mountains, oceans, forests and deserts.

He said all of them look exotic and are epic in scope.

Lastly he said he saw a character scream "it's now or never", but wasn't allowed to say who it was.

It's possible this is Kylo Ren saying this as he would want revenge for Rey beating him in The Force Awakens.

It's likely the footage that Miller described will be the first trailer that the rest of us will see later this year.

It's expected the first trailer will be shown in April during Star Wars Celebration. In either case, it appears Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be as epic as The Force Awakens.
