Universal Pictures has now announced the release date for the Digital HD and Blu-ray/DVD versions of The Fate of the Furious.

Apart from the usual special features included in the home version of the movie, Universal Pictures is also releasing an "Extended Director's Cut".

Anyway, PRNewswire posted the full press release for the home release versions of The Fate of the Furious. The Digital HD version of the film is out first and will be released on June 27th, 2017.

The Digital version includes both the movie and extended cut. The Blu-ray/DVD release comes out on July 11th, 2017 and they also come with the extended cut.

Here are the exclusive bonus features on Blu-ray:

  • The Cuban Spirit - As the first major studio motion picture to shoot in Cuba in decades, the country's effusive spirit permeates the making of the film.
  • In the Family - In The Fate of the Furious, family ties are put to the ultimate test. Get an inside look at the family divide.
  • Car Culture - It's time to put yourself in the driver's seat of the supercharged vehicles showcased in The Fate of the Furious.

Here are the other Blu-ray/DVD special features:

  • All About the Stunts - Go behind the scenes to witness how The Fate of the Furious accomplished the most epic stunts in franchise history.

It will be interesting to see what is included in the extended cut. Apparently there is one deleted scene we know of and that featured Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jason Statham.

It was an extra scene involving their characters that was supposed to kickstart a spinoff movie. Universal Pictures is going ahead with the spinoff thanks to the success of The Fate of the Furious around the world
