The latest installment of Epic Rap Battles of History features Halloween-esque chills during the start of year-end festivities. Serial killers Jack the Ripper and Hannibal Lecter engage in battle to prove whose tongue is the sharpest.

This installment is... creepier than the normal Epic Rap Battle.

This, however, is to be expected. And the video is strong even if it lacks the comedic lightheartedness for which the series is known.

EpicLloyd portrays Lecter with Hopkins-like accuracy. But there are still a few comedic lines in his creepy performance.

He asserts that Jack the Ripper is "like the Penny Dreadful version of O.J Simpson" because he stabbed women who wouldn't pay attention to him.

Guest emcee Dan Bull plays Jack the Ripper. Known for his videogame-themed raps on Youtube, Bull looks like a relic from the Vicotrian era as he spews inflammatory rhymes at his adversary.

This is a testament to the Epic Rap Battle crew; they made a chilling backdrop for Jack that suits the gloomy era in which he lived.

Bull's performance is more comedic than Lloyd's ; his persona is that of a boorish emcee trying to insult his opponent. He mentions on different occasions that Lecter is a fictional villain, and his character is an actual historical figure.

While historians often dispute this, he makes a humorous comparison between Lecter and Dexter--stating that common fiction enthusiast cares more about the latter.

Season 4 started out with three consecutive highlights. While "Jack the Ripper vs. Hannibal Lecter" doesn't measure up to "Zeus vs.

Thor," it doesn't mean that it's bad. It isn't. The latest Epic Rap Battle stands among the average videos of the series-- a mean that is still good.
