0 - 60 MPH in 3.2 Seconds, 691 horse power and ZERO emissions, oh and it can drive itself. Elon Musk and his crew of engineers have revolutionized our driving experience once again and it doesn't look like they will stop any time soon.

The new Model S is on par with and even exceeds BMW's new electric supercar, the "i8" in several areas.

Motor Trend did an in depth comparison of the two cars and came to the conclusion that the P85D is the better car overall and this is great news because its actually the cheaper car - by around $16,000.

Elon Musk has been quoted saying the car is like "Having your own rollercoaster," and Yahoo's Aki Sugawara went on to explain "Even with the P85D's 291 extra pounds, the launch from a stop is absolutely manic, like nothing I've experienced before.

It's similar to a Nissan GT-R, except all of that staggering 687 ft-lb of torque hits you at an instant, and your vision blurs from the acceleration as the brain slams into the back of your skull."

It's clear the P85D is something special and deserves a moment to be recognized as a feat of engineering.
