Fans of Ricky Gervais know that the comedian doesn't have a filter and is pretty outspoken about plenty of subjects, including the 2016 presidential election.

He stopped by The Ellen Show to chat about what has been going on and got the scare of his life, Donald Trump style.

DeGeneres asked Gervais how he felt about Trump running for president and he said it was fun to start with. He was very excited and thought it was funny but now it's not a joke.

He said it was like a strange 80s films where two billionaires got together and said who was the worse person we could get. Gervais said that Trump is an entertainer and he wants attention.

What annoys Gervais is that comedians say things as jokes and get in trouble, meanwhile, Trump says terrible things and he means them but his reaction is a round of applause from people. Gervais thinks the whole thing has gotten crazy, then came the big scare.

Gervais didn't see the Trump scare but he did hear it. They showed a little replay of it and Gervais said he nearly had a heart attack.
