It should be noted that, in the Pokemon universe, today is Mewtwo's birthday.

In Pokemon Red and Blue, there was an abandoned laboratory on Cinnabar Island. If you were curious, you probably read all of the expository diaries littered throughout the facility.

It told of the origin of Mewtwo--the resident powerhouse of the original 150 Pokemon.

"On Feb. 6, Mew gave birth," read one the diaries.

Of course, you had to wait until after beating the Elite Four to get a crack at this beast. But if you caught him, it was considered the ultimate triumph of your quest.

And all remaining trainers in the game were quickly dispatched after he was added to your arsenal.

Mewtwo has consistently been one of the most popular monsters in the series. He was the antagonist of the first Pokemon movie. In addition, he is a playable character in Super Smash Bros.

Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Even in later generations, he remains one of the series' most popular characters: In X and Y, he was added as a legendary Pokemon and given a Mega Evolution.

I would say you should wish him a happy birthday, but Mewtwo isn't real.
