Ready Player One is gearing up to be one of the biggest Steven Spielberg movies in recent memory and its release date has enough room for it to succeed before Marvel dominates with Avengers: Infinity War.

Coming out at the end of March, Ready Player One does not have a lot of competition to face in the weeks leading up to April.

Probably the only biggest competitor that the film has to face is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's 'Rampage' movie although that film will not be out until April 20th, 2018.

Due to these circumstances, Box Office Pro has done some early tracking for Ready Player One and the website predicts that the film could have a decent opening weekend of around $54 million.

The website also suggests it could have a domestic final total of around $180 million.

While these numbers don't match a superhero or Star Wars film, it's still respectable numbers for a film based on a novel that came out back in 2011.

Not to mention the movie will have lots of pop culture references as seen in the trailer that was released a few months ago.

The only downsides to the film's success is that it does not star any big Hollywood names like The Rock or Jennifer Lawrence.

A relative unknown named Tye Sheridan plays the lead character with supporting roles filled in by TJ Miller, Simon Pegg and more.

Bear in mind, this is just an early prediction so the Box Office numbers could trend upwards or downwards depending on word of mouth. If it's good, more people are likely going to watch it at opening weekend.

That said, the movie will still need to gross a healthy amount of money overseas in order for it to be a success for Warner Bros.

A production budget has not been officially announced yet, but the trailers show that the film looks like it cost over $150 million to make.
