Early Box Office Tracking Revealed For Captain Marvel

As the first Marvel film to have a female as the main character, big things are expected when Captain Marvel releases this March. The movie could have an opening weekend higher than that of DC's Wonder Woman back in 2017.

Box Office Pro have made a prediction for the opening weekend of Captain Marvel and it's huge. The website estimates the movie could open between $140 million to as high as $180 million.

There are many reasons the film is highly anticipated since Marvel hasn't had a female lead character movie yet. Black Panther did extremely well last year as the first Marvel film with a black main character.

Another reason the movie could do really well is because Captain Marvel could lead into the events that happen in Avengers: Endgame.

It's rumored Captain Marvel will be the hero of Avengers: Endgame so her movie might give people a small clue to her powers and what's she's capable of.

As of right now, Captain Marvel is the third best selling MCU movie on Fandango just behind Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. Reactions to the recent trailers have been positive too which is increasing the hype for the movie.

To end the report, Box Office Pro feels that Captain Marvel could have an opening weekend as high as $160 million.

The site also predicts the North American total for the film could go as high as $465 million. Both numbers are higher than what Wonder Woman got.
