Kevin Hart was supposed to be this year's Academy Awards host, but he decided to pull out due to some homophobic tweets he posted out several years ago.

Now the Academy Awards has no solo host, but one other name was also in the running this year.

Kevin Hart's co-star from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, has revealed on his official Twitter account that he was this year's first choice to host the 2019 Academy Awards.

Things were going well, but scheduling issues got in the way since he's filming the third Jumanji movie.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson wanted to make this year's awards very fun, but he posted on Twitter a reason why he couldn't commit. You can read his comments posted down below.

"Ah mahalo dude, I was their first choice to host this year, and my goal was to make it the most fun and entertaining Oscars ever. We all tried hard, but couldn’t make it work since I’m shooting Jumanji. Academy and I were super bummed but maybe one day down the road".

The Rock even hinted in a subsequent tweet that we could have seen him do a "Rock Concert" at the Academy Awards too. Dwayne Johnson's 'Rock Concerts' were amazing when he did them during numerous WWE shows in the past.

Anyway, it looks like we will have to wait until the near future for Dwayne Johnson to host the Academy Awards. This year will have no solo host as the awards will be presented by numerous celebrities instead.
