The Rock announced his appearance on the show via his official Twitter page. You can see his full announcement posted down below.

"FINALLY...I come back home to my @WWE universe. This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN! LIVE on @FOXTV. There’s no greater title than #thepeopleschamp. And there’s no place like home. Tequila on me after the show 😈🥃#IfYaSmell🎤 #Smackdown #RocksShow #FOX

The last time The Rock appeared in WWE was filming a segment for his movie called 'Fighting with my Family'. This night is famous for him trying to call CM Punk on his mobile phone.

This week's Smackdown isn't just about the debut on Fox because it is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of the long running show.

Smackdown is important to The Rock since he came up with the name of the show two decades ago. Smackdown is even recognized as an official word now!

The main event of this week's show sees WWE Champion Kofi Kingston needing to defend his title against a returning Brock Lesnar!
