Deepika Padukone Talks 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage' and More On The Ellen Show

From Bollywood to Hollywood, Deepika Padukone finds herself becoming yet another actress to make the crossover. She stopped by The Ellen Show to chat about her upcoming film xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, rumors of romance and more.

DeGeneres welcomed Padukone to her first American talk show appearance. Padukone revealed that her father was a professional badminton player and she also played for a little while.

She said that her father always told her to follow her heart and she knew from a young age she always wanted to be in front of an actor.

She had to borrow money from her parents for a professional portfolio and vowed to pay them back.

The host said that Padukone has done somewhere around 30 films but Padukone has not kept count. In terms of her part in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, Padukone said she auditioned for Furious 7 but it didn't work out.

However, she believes people remembered her from that audition and she got a call from Paramount asking her to meet with the director.

Deepika said that Diesel wanted to meet with her as well and once they met they broke into a professional photo shoot at his home.

She told Diesel that if he put the photo up it meant she was in the film but Diesel still didn't say anything, he just posted it.

Padukone said she got a whirlwind of calls but wasn't sure if she was even in the film.
