The 2017 Hall of Fame is getting a brand new member.

Later this year Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) will be inducted into this year's Hall of Fame as announced by WWE.

It's been a long time and this individual deserves to be inducted for his efforts both inside and outside the wrestling ring.

DDP is an unusual prospect as he's one of the few wrestlers out there that wrestled at an old age.

People like Rey Mysterio, Paige and more started wrestling when they were young and had their first matches as teenagers.

DDP didn't train to be a wrestler until he was the age of 35! It's not everyday that you can call someone that old a rookie in any profession.

Despite being a late bloomer, DDP became a huge name in World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

He won multiple championships over his career but he was able to capture the Heavyweight title in three separate occasions.

Not to mention he had lots of great matches with guys such as Hulk Hogan, Sting, Goldberg, Booker T and many others in the stacked WCW roster.

One of the things that fans love him most about is his Diamond Cutter finisher. The Diamond Cutter is an early version of the RKO and it looks beautiful.

Too bad we never got to see DDP vs. Randy Orton because that match would have been exciting.

Sadly by the time WCW dissolved in 2001, DDP's WWE career wasn't as successful as his time in the other company.

He was put in a feud with the Undertaker early on and that was the only memorable thing from his time wrestling in the WWE. He then rejoined part time WWE in 2011 but only appeared as a legend in some segments.

Some people may remember him more as a mentor and life saver thanks to his fitness program DDP Yoga. DDP Yoga has helped the lives of many wrestlers suffering from injuries such as Chris Jericho and AJ Styles.

He even saved the lives of both Scott Hall and Jake "The Snake" Roberts as both were overweight and were taking lots of drugs. Now both men are healthier than they have been in years!

Anyway, the WWE Hall of Fame 2017 takes place on March 31st, 2017. More names will be announced although the headliner this year is Kurt Angle.
