The divide between the public and police officers is reaching an all new high and Daye Jack and Killer Mike released a new track titled, "Hands Up" to address police brutality and shooting cases.

"Daye Jack enlists the services of Killer Mike on his latest track, "Hands Up." The collaboration is a convergence of two generations from Atlanta, and the stakes couldn't be higher," according to a press release.

"Inspired by the turbulent state of current events, both rappers are searching for answers to the questions we're all grappling with regarding police brutality and systemic racism."

"Hands Up" is a gripping track that uses a fairly uplifting beat despite the lyrics that reveal pain, a broken mentality and turmoil. Both Jack and Mike addresses the difficult social issues that are contributing to murders like those of Trevon Martin and all of the others that have followed.

Through the power of music these artists are asking police officers not to shoot and that not everyone they consider a thug actually is one.

Daye, who released Soul Glitch this summer, however, he is working on a full length debut album set to release next year featuring production from Nosaj Thing, Mike Elizondo, and Max Martin, among others.
