With "The Originals" and "The Vampire Diaries" casts on their mid-season break, it looks like Danielle Campbell, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder all had pretty eventful holiday celebrations, but who had the best?

Ian Somerhalder who plays Damon Salvatore on The CW's hit show "The Vampire Diaries" was all over the gossip blogs after posting a photo with his girlfriend Nikki Reid as the two hit the slopes for the holidays.
Not only did Somerhalder grace fans with a holiday photo of him and his girlfriend, but, he also managed to find the time to type out a pretty lengthy caption that read:
"No filter for this sunny Sun Valley day of awesomeness with my loves, the incredible @iamnikkireed and my brother @nathanaugustreed .The Happiest of holidays to everyone, may nothing but smiles, family time and reflection come from these moments.

Somerhalder seems to be the bearer of positive vibes on the holidays and praised his fans for their continued support of not only him but his ISF charity.
Meanwhile, his ex Nina Dobrev looked to be doing a little skiing of her own.
Dobrev took to Instagram showing off a snowy view of her own with her family and loved ones. Dobrev has enjoying every bit of her life and has all of the Instagram photos to prove it including the one above. She also took some time to send a positive message to her fans with a caption that simply read, "Snowboarding adventures with my favorite people. Friends .
Family. Loved ones. Life is good. Scream at the top of your lungs of you're grateful/having a good time!"
She has also managed to keep the media guessing when it comes to who she is dating. Posting photos with numerous cast members to mask her real boyfriend Foster The People's guitarist, Mark Foster.
The real winner for best holiday celebration may have to go to "The Originals" star Danielle Campbell who took a very homely approach to her celebration. Her Instagram was loaded with photos and videos of her and her family sharing joy, laughter and spending time together.
Campbell didn't just state what the holidays is all about but she exemplified he meaning.
From sharing the excitement of her grandmother finally getting the pie crust right and dancing to "Footloose" to ice skating with her family and showing off her Christmas Day pajamas, she totally did it right.
