In Hollywood, directors and actors usually have a business relationship with one another, while other examples they might hate one another.

Well this isn't the case with Daisy Ridley because she was overjoyed to know that she gets the chance to work with JJ Abrams again in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Daisy Ridley was so happy, she even cried when she heard of the announcement. She revealed this piece of great news during an interview with Rolling Stone. You can read her comments on the matter down below.

Everyone was saying it was going to be Rian and everything, so I was genuinely quite surprised, and was like 'Oh my God!' and I started crying immediately with three people in the office. And they were like, 'What the fuck just happened?' So I emailed J.J. saying, 'Oh my God I am crying.' And he goes, 'Oh my God, me too.' And then we had a conversation a few days later and we stay in touch. But we stayed in touch the whole time anyway.

In the same interview, Abrams said he initially had to intention to return to the Star Wars franchise after making The Force Awakens in 2015.

However, he came back because he wanted to finish the story with the new characters that were created for this new trilogy.

As you may already know, the original director for Star Wars: Episode IX was Jurassic World's Colin Trevorrow. Lucasfilm was however unhappy with his script and directing style which presented the opportunity for Abrams to come back.

The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson, was considered although Lucasfilm has different plans for him. Johnson is now instead working on an even newer Star Wars trilogy set to take place in a different galaxy.

Episode IX will not be out until December 2019 but it's great to see the cast and crew like the return of Abrams.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the next movie in the franchise and it opens in North America on December 15th, 2017.
