Could Elsa Get Herself A Girlfriend In Frozen 2?

Frozen came out back in 2013 and became a worldwide smash Box Office hit. Not only did fans love the story and animation, but it also had a lot of memorable songs that people still sing to this day. 

Disney has made a lot of other animated movies since then, but many are still waiting for the release of Frozen 2.

Some of these fans are hoping its main character Elsa can get a girlfriend in the sequel and the original movie's director, Jennifer Lee, has commented on fans' requests.

Lee was interviewed by The Huffington Post and she commented that they have been having 'conversations' about making Elsa gay in the Frozen sequel. You can read some of her comments on the matter down below. 

"I love everything people are saying [and] people are thinking about with our film ― that it’s creating dialogue, that Elsa is this wonderful character that speaks to so many people. It means the world to us that we’re part of these conversations.. Where we’re going with it, we have tons of conversations about it, and we’re really conscientious about these things. For me ... Elsa’s every day telling me where she needs to go, and she’ll continue to tell us. I always write from character-out, and where Elsa is and what Elsa’s doing in her life, she’s telling me every day. We’ll see where we go."

This is not full confirmation that Elsa is going to be gay in Frozen 2, but at least Disney is becoming more open to featuring LBGT characters to its more recent movies.

The Frozen sequel releases in 2019 so we might hear some more details about the film later this year hopefully.

Current societial norms are changing and being gay is no longer a secretive thing. Making a character as popular as Elsa gay could make Frozen 2 a more progressive film once it comes out sometime next year.
