Sylvan Esso, a collaboration duo between Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, has announced their scheduled tour dates for their winter tour.

Meath, the vocalist for the group, and Sanborn, the electronic musician mind behind the duo, have taken a different turn on folk and electronic music with the releases of their work.

Pitchfork has described their music as "dance music's take on a folk ballad, merging drafty vocal interludes with a groovy pulse and manic jolts of sound". Meath's powerful voice is front and center, enjoined by fellow harmonizers as it is in her folk group, Mountain Man.

Sanborn, who plays bass in the genre-destroying Megafaun, creates "intricate and pulsing grooves for Meath's voice to inhabit".

"The blend of Meath's earthy, irrepressible croon and Sanborn's synth bass-heavy dance production is remarkably distinct, and very engaging," Sterogum describes the work of Sylvan Esso.

The duo will touch down in DC on January 28th to perform at DC9, and continue on their tour until the 15th of February, with stops in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.

The tour will be spent promoting their debut 'Hey Miami / Play It Right', a release featuring accapella and instrumental versions of each song.
