Comedian Jim Jefferies, known for his cancelled show, "Legit," is posting messages that he received from angry fans.

The Australian comedian bluntly states his opinions about various topics during his performances. With dark humor, Jefferies acknowledges that his routine angers a portion of his viewers.

He often pauses during his performances to unapologetically talk about the people who he offended.

The comedian has riffed on several topics in his specials--religion being the most prominent.

But the messages that Jefferies posted aren't in response to his outspoken atheistic views; his routine on gun control--appearing in his recent special, entitled "Bare"--has earned him the scorn of many viewers.

In his segment on gun control, Jefferies compares American gun laws to those of other countries.

In addition, he makes fun of the National Rifle Association (NRA), and America's reaction to firearm restricting laws.

He concludes his routine on gun control by saying that people who he angered are most enraged by the fact that he's "foreign."

Jefferies stated his shock via Facebook on September 3; "Now that I have been giving my opinions on gun control I have been getting around 15 hate letters a day.

It turns out that the gun people cannot handle being teased as much as the religious folks...

Look I don't expect you to agree with everything I say, the jokes I tell on stage are the jokes that I'd like to hear if I went to see a comic."

On September 10, the comedian posted examples of the messages that he was receiving.
