Christopher Nolan Unlikely To Be The Director For James Bond 25 Starring Daniel Craig

A 25th James Bond movie is currently in production with Daniel Craig set to reprise his role as the popular British spy.

Despite the movie getting released in late 2019, an official director or any other cast members have yet to be confirmed.

One of the directors that fans wanted is Christopher Nolan. Nolan is famous for directing classics like The Dark Knight, Inception and Dunkirk just to name a few. 

However, it sounds like Nolan himself is ruling out the possibility of directing James Bond 25. He revealed this during an interview he had with BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs (via Digital Spy). 

I won’t be the man. No, categorically…I’d love to make a Bond film at some point and I think those producers – Barbara and Michael – they do a tremendous job and Sam Mendes has done a terrific job the last couple of films, so they don’t particularly need me.

Despite these comments, Nolan did not rule himself out to direct a James Bond film in the future. It just appears like he cannot commit himself to direct the next one of the franchise coming out next year. 

It's entirely possible Nolan could direct a future James Bond film from scratch using his own actors and vision. Nolan has always been a big fan of the character since he was a little kid watching the older Bond films. 

James Bond 25 is expected to be Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond. After 2019, the film studio will need to find an all-new person to take on the iconic role. 

A British man may not even be the criteria to become the next James Bond. There has been discussions of possibly making him a different ethnicity or even a woman in the future movies.
