Even though Fast and Furious 9 has been confirmed, Charlize Theron is not yet sure that she will be back for the sequel yet.

This is odd since she played the main villain in The Fate of the Furious and her story arc never got resolved.

Charlize Theron spoke recently to Variety and she explained her status in the Fast and Furious franchise at this very moment. She said: "I don't know. Have no idea if they'll have me back.

Look, I love everybody at Universal. We're going to have conversations. We'll see where it goes."

It's possible Universal Pictures is still brainstorming what to do with the franchise.

Yes, Fast and Furious 9 is confirmed but the studio could always introduce a new villain to keep things fresh. Theron might just be relegated to appear in the spin-off film instead starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jason Statham.

Both The Fate and the Furious and Furious 7 earned well over $1 billion at the Box Office so Universal Pictures won't be giving up on the franchise anytime soon.

People worldwide (especially China) love watching these movies. It will be interesting to see if they can come up with any new ideas for the franchise as the series already went through a soft reboot.

In slightly related news, Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's "See You Again" from Furious 7 is now the most watched YouTube video of all time. It has amassed an astounding 2.9 billion views. It finally overtook Psy's "Gangnam Style" which is sitting at 2.87 billion views.

This goes to show is how much reach the Fast franchise has. Not to mention people still miss Paul Walker. Walker had much more charm than Scott Eastwood who somewhat replaced him in The Fate of the Furious.
