Captain Marvel Flies To The Top Of The Box Office

Marvel Studios has finally released its first movie of 2019 and it looks like Captain Marvel is already becoming a blockbuster hit. The movie was released worldwide earlier this week and is already a huge hit with audiences.

As reported by Box Office Pro, Captain Marvel has earned an estimated $150 million this opening weekend. This includes a big haul of $61.382 million earned on Friday. The movie looks like it is meeting industry expectations so far.

Not to mention the film earned an "A" for its Cinemascore meaning it should have positive word of mouth going forward. The movie is already a hit with critics where it has a 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

From a worldwide standpoint, the movie is estimated to have earned over $400 million globally already. The biggest market is China where it has earned over $34 million in its opening day.
