It seems as if the Black Panther movie will be getting a bigger Box Office weekend than what was previously predicted. This is all thanks to the high number of tickets sold when they became available earlier this month.

Box Office Pro has now made an adjustment to their prediction for the Box Office weekend for the Black Panther movie.

A few weeks ago they were tracking the movie to gross around $90 million in its opening weekend, but social media buzz for the film has increased just a month before its release in February.

The new prediction states that the movie could earn an opening weekend of around $120 million. This is around the same ballpark as the opening weekends of other MCU films such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok.

In terms of its overall domestic gross, it's anticipated that the film could go on to gross around $335 million in North America alone. Again, these are similar numbers that 2017 movies Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Raganrok got as well.

That said, it's always possible that Black Panther could get an even higher opening weekend.

After all, 2016's Deadpool was expected to gross $60 million in its opening weekend, but it ended up receiving over $130 million in its first three days instead.

Black Panther could easily make a lot of money in February due to the lack of competition.

The Summer season starting in May and ending in late August is usually the time movie studios cram so many big blockbusters one after the other.

Marvel Studios was smart leaving Black Panther away from the Summer season. May 2018 is already stacked with Avengers: Infinity War, Solo: A Star Wars Story and now Deadpool 2 all coming in the same month!
