Halloween 2018 is out now and it managed to have the second highest Box Office weekend opening of all time in the month of October.

It had a smashing debut, although it fell short of beating Venom's record which was from three weeks ago.

As reported by Box Office Pro, Halloween 2018 had an opening weekend of $77.5 million. The movie managed to attract a large crowd as it is a direct sequel to the original movie that came out way back in 1978.

Word of mouth is still strong for Halloween 2018 as the movie has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 80%. It is more than likely going to be the highest grossing film in the Halloween franchise when all is said and done.

So far Halloween 2018 has managed to gross $91.8 million globally. This number is sure to grow since the Halloween holiday will soon be upon us next week.

Second this weekend belongs to 'A Star Is Born' which is always in the runner-up spot.

The movie made more money this weekend than Venom for the first ever time grossing just over $19.3 million. Word of mouth is still strong which is why the film is still grossing a lot of money.

From a worldwide standpoint, 'A Star Is Born' has grossed $201.1 million so far. The movie is also topping the music charts as the soundtrack and many of the songs still prove to be very popular.

Despite competition from Halloween 2018, Venom still managed to come third and have an opening weekend of $18.1 million. Word of mouth is still positive among fans since critics unfairly hated the movie for some reason.

Anyway, Venom has now grossed over $461.2 million worldwide. This number will grow once the movie finally opens in China this November.
