We are three weeks into 2019 and the first batch of big movies have come out.

On top is the movie called 'Glass', but Dragon Ball Super: Broly managed to squeeze in the top 3 despite only being released in a limited number of theaters over in North America.

This weekend is MLK weekend so there will be a three day holiday for most people living in the USA. The biggest movie of the weekend is M Night Shyamalan’s 'Glass' which is a sequel to 'Split' and 'Unbreakable'.

As reported by Box Office Pro, 'Glass' earned $40.5 million in its first three days at the Box Office with a 4 day weekend estimated to be $47 million. The movie has opened slightly less than anticipated thanks to mixed reviews from critics.

Glass may not have shattered any big Box Office records, but average movie goers seem to like the movie more than the critics do.

While the Rotten Tomatoes score for Glass is only 36%, the audience score is more encouraging because 78% of movie goers liked the movie.

The first weekend of Glass was high enough to beat the second weekend of 'The Upside'.

The popular drama made $15.6 million in its sophomore weekend. Word of mouth is still high due to the movie getting a Cinemascore of an 'A'.

Coming in third place is the limited release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly in North America.

Despite only releasing in just over 1000 cinemas, the movie still managed to have an impressive opening weekend of $10.4 million. The North America total of the film is now an estimated $23.5 million.

From a worldwide standpoint, Dragon Ball Super: Broly has now grossed over $69.9 million globally. The movie will be out in more countries next week as it will open in Australia and New Zealand very soon.
